  • Online Registration commences TBA
  • Registration will be online and at a gathering the evening before the race. There will be no Saturday, day of race registrations.
  • The race will be capped at 150 competitors
  • When you register you will either register as a 3 racer team or an individual, indicating each racers category, gender and age.
  • An optional speed camp will be held for any interested participants on the Friday before the race.

A downhill ski race for all ages*, of all abilities and skiing expertise the Schuss Boomer Downhill is one of but a handful of surviving town downhill races left in Canada. Now about to celebrate it's 36th running.

This is a one day event, combining the fun race and the need for speed. Our event remains both a fun event and a serious event for those who feel the "Need for Speed". Come on out and challenge your spouse, your friends or yourself and have a fun weekend of skiing and general merriment and foolishness at Hudson Bay Mountain Resort on Saturday March 30, 2019.

There are several different components to this one day event:

  • The fun race consists of teams of three (3) dressed up in costume and individual racers. Each team picks an estimated time and the closest “combined guessed time” for the team wins.
  • The individuals with the need-for-speed compete to be the fastest on the mountain. (both run time and radar speed)
  • Option speed camp the day before the race. Multiple coaches working together to provide safe and effective training. This will be a structured day with working from partial runs to full course. Timed runs in afternoon.

* Participants 13 years and under must be part of BC Alpine..
